Sunrise Reminder — You’re Allowed to Return to Yourself
A weekly moment to breathe, reconnect, and remember who you are.
Some weeks feel heavier, not because anything big happened, but because life has a way of piling up quietly. One small thing here, another there, and suddenly your whole system is saying, “This is a lot.”
And maybe you’ve wondered, Why does everything feel like too much?
I’ve been there.
And here’s what I’ve learned—peace doesn’t come from life slowing down. It comes from reconnecting with yourself. It comes from asking, What am I carrying right now… and is it even mine?
Most of us hold things we never name: old expectations, old stories, the pressure to be the strong one. So when overwhelm shows up, we think something is wrong with us. But nothing is wrong with you. You’re human. And you’re carrying more than you were meant to hold alone.
When I feel myself slipping into overwhelm, I pause before responding. I ask myself, Is this mine? I take one slow breath. I name what I’m feeling so it stops spinning inside me. I remind myself I don’t have to fix everything today.
Small shifts that bring me back to myself.
If you’re feeling stretched thin as the year winds down, you’re not alone. This time of year carries so much—reflection, grief, memories, hope. We’re closing a chapter and meeting ourselves again… and that comes with emotion.
So let yourself slow down. Let yourself soften. Let yourself say, I’m coming back to me.
And if this speaks to you, this is exactly the kind of reflection we’ll explore together in Write Your Way to Self-YES, my 10-day journaling experience in January. It’s not about resolutions or pressure—it’s about returning to yourself with honesty and intention. More details soon.
For now, just take a moment and notice how you feel. What you’ve been carrying. What wants to be released. You don’t need answers today.
Just come back to yourself. One breath at a time.
